INSPIRATION:
My work is inspired by nature, yet not in a classical form. Some are transformations of collected photographs, taken on my trips to foreign countries, some are inspired by satellite pictures.
Since early in my life I have been fascinated by the rough side of nature and elements like water and wind; by groups of rocks in brazilian rivers, the Verzasca valley in Switzerland or on wild beaches in Africa and Colombia; by rock-formations, eroded by wind and water in New Mexica, Arizona and Turkey.
A dialog is created:
- the image slowly takes shape
- lines get sublimated or accentuated
- structures of surfaces abstracted
Movement is created:
- Discoloration born through various light-
sources become the color theme
- Jazz, African and Brazilian songs,
Celtic and ancient Portuguese music
subpaint the theme
THE PAINTING:
In my paintings, I try with various elements to create atension but at the same time a harmony.
- Organic structures unite with almost
ornamental patterns and the quietude
of the background
- Chaos reaches silence and vis versa
